Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Today the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) had some good news to report. As it turns out active women have 20 – 40 % less chance to get breast cancer then women who sit on their butt all day. Even women who get on in years need to get active so they still can reduce the risk of getting breast cancer.

When are you active enough?
The Dutch Cancer Society advises everyone, young and old, to exercise enough. But what’s enough?. Nobody knows, really. As long as there is no further information about that, the Dutch Caner Society agrees with the Dutch standard for Healthy Living:
An adult needs to be activity (moderate intensity) each day, for at least half an hour. Sports counts of course but things like: riding a bike, taking a walk, work in the garden, cleaning the house, dance and walking up and down stairs also count as an activity.

That is not that difficult. Time to do a little dance on ‘Miss U Less See U More by Faithless’ (for a start) I think ;-)

Not to be a smart-a**, but breasts can be part of 1/2 hour of a moderate intensity workout ;-)
