McDonald’s Heerlen (Limburg) has to remove urinals.
The urinals, in the shape of wide-open red lips, have to be removed from the men’s room. According to the owner of the McDonald's fast-food outlet in the south east of the Netherlands, the urinals have to be removed because a prudish American filled a couple of complaints with McDonald’s head office.
The Owner said that the bright red, mouth-shaped urinals, named 'Kisses', are works of art. According to Bathroom-mania “'Kisses!' transforms a daily event into a blushing experience! Works better than aiming at the fly! This is one target men will never miss!" But a different view is taken of them in America. The urinals are being removed and will be sold off. "I'm not going to harp on about a pair of urinals," he said.
Leave it to the Americans to play the role of party poopers ;)

I can't imagine what grounds the guy thought he had for complaining, but more fool Macdonalds for responding to a completely unjustified complaint from ONE customer who apparently doesn't like the décor! I wonder whether Belga Queen in Brussels gets complaints about the clear toilet doors that become opaque only when you turn the door-handle several times, which apparently several people have failed to work out... I somehow doubt that they would change the doors if someone were to complain.

The fact that apparently one American has the power to change the men’s room décor makes me go Grrrrrrrrr!, Qamninante. I wonder what would happen if I wrote McDonald’s a note asking them to close all restaurants in Holland because their food is not ‘good food’.

They are lovely. To be honest I'm surprised a McDo actually put them in the first place. Surely any trendy bar would have them.
I was sort of surprised too Andre. But who knows, maybe this a McD with a theme. We have one near a movie theatre that has a movie theme; it’s filled with all sorts of movie memorabilia. I am not sure what theme could be in this case though……maybe it is “we have some mouths to feed” ;) Or maybe the owner just thought that red would fit in nicely with the logo. I guess we will never know :)
As an American, I'm hanging my head in shame.
