Mind, body and soul sessions (#9)

Just relax!

After 8 weeks of “hard” work I think it’s time for some relaxation. In today’s busy world, relaxing sound like a luxury, an indulgence, something you can easily live without because who has the time anyway. The contrary, however, is true. Relaxation isn’t a luxury, something inappropriately silly that only people with hired help can afford to do. We are all able to free up at least 10 minutes a day for some relaxation. Why you ask? Because… we need time to relax. Relaxation is just as important to your happiness and health as eating, getting enough sleep, exercising and adopting a positive lifestyle. Conscious relaxation gives you more energy and focus. Planned relaxation calms anxiety and helps your body and mind recover from everyday rush and stress.

Now, you might think you relax everyday, in front of the TV for example, but that isn’t relaxing at all. Watching TV is a passive activity and believe it or not, relaxing should involve taking some sort of action. So as of today engage in some relaxing activity. It does not have to be something time consuming, just give yourself 10 minutes or so. Visit your sanctuary and just sit there for a while. You might find that just sitting there is calming and uplifting. Or do something different. Go to a park or just take a walk around the block. Feel the sun on your skin (or rain if it’s raining ;)), breath in the air, hear the wind rustling the leaves and just enjoy the experience. If you can’t leave the house, open a window and smell the air. Wow, that’s a whole different smell, isn’t it? Or get some aromatherapy going! No, nothing complicated. Just peal an orange and let its citrusy scent revitalize and refresh your spirit. And if you want to go all out…..treat yourself, take long hot soak in the tub. Light some candles, put on some relaxing music, unplug the phone, switch off your cell-phone, put some nice scented salt or bath oil in the tub and put the world on hold for 15 minutes or as long as you like! Enjoy :)

Well all you need is a bathtub, DoGGa. Oh, and some candles, bath oil or salt and relaxing music. Man, I think I've made a mistake. This can’t be relaxing….. you would have to shop first and that can be hard work too ;)

I just smell real bad.
Kidding - I only have a shower :]

LOL! Same here, DoGGa. But one of my friends has a real luxurious bathroom and I can use the tub when ever I want :)
