Hi guys and gals......

It has been a while, I know, so I thought it was time to fill you in on some developments.

I am doing fine healthwise (thanks for asking). I visited my doctor again last week and I am off the meds now, but I still have to pay attention to what I eat and drink. I can have tea and coffee again (only 2 or 3 cups a day) and that cheered me up a lot. But I still have to be careful with spices, fat, alcohol and focus on portion sizes. If all goes well, I can go on with my life, but if the symptoms return, I'll have to go back and probably see a specialist :-( I am not looking forward to something like an esophagogastroduodenoscopy…….brrrrr!

I went to a Flickr Meetup the other day, which was fun. I had a hard time deciding whether or not I should go (poor weather conditions and health) but in the end I went and had fun. I was nice meeting some new people although some of them are photography nutters or as someone else called them; people with a passion!

I had a really fun birthday yesterday (thanks for all the birthday wishes). I got some nice flowers, cards, theatre tickets, a voucher to buy concert tickets, money to put in my camera fund, a dinner invitation, candles, chocolates, perfume and a nice bottle of wine.

Of course I did some other things too, and the regular life stuff happened but I am not going to blog about it……..in fact, I have reached a decision; after 2 years and 3 month and 670 posts, I am going to quit this whole blogging thing. As some of you know, I’ve been thinking about this a lot for quite some time now and I think it’s the best thing for now.
When I started blogging it was al about using and practising my English, later on I just wanted to make people a little happier and smile a bit more. I hope I’ve managed to do that from time to time. Right now I feel I can’t do that anymore, I lack inspiration and the drive that is needed.

I suspect I'll come back to blogging one day. Maybe I’ll pick up where I left off or maybe I’ll start something new. Right now,
“Everything is open,
Nothing is set in stone”

So, I am off, drifting around like driftwood for a while :-)

Take care of yourself, smile a lot, laugh often, think happy thoughts, dream as if you’ll live forever and live as if you’ll die today.

Hugs to you all, and thanks for visiting my blog.
This is Dakota signing off,…… na-nu, nanu!

Happy Birthday fellow Libran (a bit late), and hope all goes well. I'm a bit in the same boat myself...

Happy Birthday.

Well bye bye Dakota, it really was a pleasure knowing you, I hope you still drop by my blog every now and then, but if not then see you around!

Happy Belated Birthday, Dakota! I'm glad you were able to at least have coffee and tea again. A birthday toast with tea is just as good as one with wine. :)
I was SO surprised to see you're closing up shop here, but I hope to still see you around Flickr.
It has been fun to read your blog. You have a great positivity and creativity and wonderful way of looking at things. Your blog has always conveyed those qualities.
See ya around. :)

oh no! not another blog that's closing. My 'gone but not forgotten' list is going to get bigger than my current friends. I always loved coming over and getting my body and soul advice and the Tuesday cartoon. I agree your english needs no more practice but I shall miss you :( please drop in now and then.

Thanks all!

I’ll be around, Angela {{Hugs}}

Sorry to hear that, Qaminante. Well, one thought that keeps me going is this…..things can only get better :-) I don’t know when you celebrate your birthday, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you too :-)

I am feeling better every day, Kat and I am still on Flickr so I guess we see each other there :-)

Aw, Lord Hutton, that’s good to know :-)

Likewise, Andre :-)

Aw, thanks for all your kind words, Krissa. To be honest, I am a bit surprised myself :-) Blogging used to be fun; nowadays it’s not a satisfying thing anymore. So, I think it’s best to quit.

Oh yes, Snowqueen! Sorry to be the next addition to your ‘gone but not forgotten’ list, but I think I have to follow my advice here and stop doing things that don’t work for me :-)

Glad you had a good birthday Dakota!

And you're quite right about no longer doing things that don't work. I've let my own blog drift as well (although I'm planning a new one!), and can only follow where my energy leads me. But as my friend Krissa said, we'll see ya around on Flickr! :)

You are planning a new blog, KJ’s Muse? Interesting, can’t wait to see it!

See you around :-)

Dear Dakota,

I'm definitely to late for proper birthday wishes, but hopefuly not to late to wish you farewell, whereever your way will lead you. May the force be with you!

I've always liked your blog and hope that we may stay in contact.

Hi Wanderingthinker,

You know where I am and how to reach me, and I know where you are and how to reach you, so I guess it’s up to the both of us to stay in touch :-)

Take care, don’t work to hard and live a little, but I guess you are already doing that with your new and improved shorter work week. Enjoy your days off :-)

Hey, hey, Mr. D.

Thanks for all your kind words. I am a bit disappointed though, because why on earth don’t you want to see me in any shape or form ;-)

Take care! See you around :-) X

Happy Birthday Dakota my friend. I should remember because I too am a Libra. I'm glad you are feeling better. You've been one of my longest, and favorite, blogger friends. I too am growing tired of the blog. It runs in cycles I suppose. I'll stay in touch

A Joke:
Question: What is the differnce between a Esophagogastroduodenoscopy scope and a colonoscopy scpoe?
Answer: The taste :-)
